Most agronomic decisions begin with the soil and it's ability to provide water to the plant. The PCT agronomic package requires that comprehensive soil survey's are carried out on every field. In most cases this is achieved using Electromagnetic Induction (EMI), however in some areas of the world, including Western Australia the use of Gamma Radiometrics is very important in understanding crop variability. Soil sampling is implemented strategically to ensure the soil variability is understood and can therefore be managed.

Agronomic solutions focus on providing effective spatial implementation of normal agronomic practises. For example a normal recommendation of blanket fertiliser is applied in a variable manner to improve product efficacy and therefore improve yield and quality potential.
