pct drainage solutions!

PCT provide a range of solutions in relation to poor drainage. Whether its a full levelling project or a simple surface drain PCT can provide the data and solutions you require.

Most solutions PCT provide start with analysis. Using our synchronised viewing option we can simply look at corresponding areas in a field of different derivatives of elevation data.

Valuable layers derived from the elevation surface include depression depth (how deep is the hole), slope (calculated in the direction of the water flow) and Error From Plane (potential cut and fill). All these layers can show different problems in the field and analysis with yield often demonstrates the need to re-level a field.

As all PCT data is on a 2mtr grid our high resolution analysis is a numbers game. Each hectare is sampled 2500 times to develop a comprehensive and accurate assessment of yield loss.

The graph below show values in the top of the columns (EFP in cm's) and above that the column is the yield value, while the green line indicates area of each of the zones. In the example below, -0.01cm (1cm of cut) represents the most area in the field and also yields about 0.26 bales/ha less than the area which has a value of 0.01cm fill. The difference between these two is what's important because 13 ha has yielded 0.26 bales/ha lower and therefore that one zone has cost the grower revenue of around $1700-00. If we add all the other zones we can see the total loss and compare to the total cost to re-level.
